Basketball Recap: Camden's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Camden needed a changed in momentum after dropping eight straight games and they got it from Jahmarie Mcleod. The Camden Bulldogs secured a 51-45 W over the Richland Northeast Cavaliers on Saturday thanks in part to Mcleod, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Richland Northeast saw an underclassman step up: freshman Reece Jackson went 6 for 14 en route to 15 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Damarcus Haliburton, who posted six points and nine rebounds.

Camden's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 7-12. As for Richland Northeast, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Camden has already played their next contest, a 60-45 loss against Dreher on the 28th. As for Richland Northeast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-39 defeat against Lancaster on the 28th.
