Basketball Recap: Bradenton Christian's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Bradenton Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost to the DeSoto County Bulldogs at home by a 72-57 margin. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-43 two weeks ago.

Defeat or not, Bradenton Christian got some senior leadership from Taylor Blunden and Lana Price. Blunden went 11 of 20 en route to 30 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Price shot 5-for-5 from long range and dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blunden has scored all season.

It was another big night for Yahri Tyler, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 21 rebounds for DeSoto County. The matchup was Tyler's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cherish Wiggins, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds.

Bradenton Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for DeSoto County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 14-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bradenton Christian will host Manatee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for DeSoto County, they will take on Booker at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Booker is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.2 points per game this season.
