Football Recap: Middlesex Chargers vs. Rappahannock Raiders
Middlesex lost against Rappahannock back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Chargers were outmatched by the Raiders and fell 64-10. The Chargers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-3.
Jakub Bowen threw for 100 yards and one touchdown. Davonte Griffin was his top target, picking up 87 receiving yards and one TD.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rappahannock to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenneth Madison, who rushed for 163 yards and three scores on only nine carries. Madison's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 16th straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season. L'Mari Ellis-Thomas was in the mix as well, providing Rappahannock with two touchdowns.
Middlesex now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Rappahannock, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Looking ahead, Middlesex will be playing at home against Northampton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rappahannock, they will head out to face off against Northside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them.
