Baseball Game Preview: Lassen Grizzlies vs. Yreka Miners

The Lassen Grizzlies will venture away from home to challenge the Yreka Miners at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lassen's tournament run continued when they took on Wheatland on Wednesday. The Grizzlies fell 7-4 to the Pirates.

Connor Kirack was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Zayn Wright was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Yreka fell victim to University Prep and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Miners have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Lassen's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Yreka, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Lassen came out on top in a nail-biter against Yreka in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
