Volleyball Recap: Piedmont Community Charter Patriots vs. West Lincoln Rebels
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Piedmont Community Charter can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the West Lincoln Rebels on Saturday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Piedmont Community Charter started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-18.
Kaylee Ward was nothing short of spectacular for West Lincoln: she had 26 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Ward has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Long, who had 11 digs and one assist.
Piedmont Community Charter's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for West Lincoln, with the win, they broke their five-match losing streak and moved their record to 9-15.
Piedmont Community Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Lincoln, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Draughn on the 21st.
