Baseball Recap: Mattanawcook Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Mattanawcook and Dexter pushed the score to 21-11 the last time they played Dexter, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Lynx sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Tigers. The Lynx's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Avery Jordan made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Jordan was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases. Jordan is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Jordan wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chase Stevens, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Mattanawcook's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Dexter, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Mattanawcook will challenge Lee Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dexter, they will face off against Bucksport at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers are facing the Golden Bucks at the right time seeing as the Golden Bucks are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
