Soccer Game Preview: Hardin-Jefferson vs. Vidor

The Hardin-Jefferson Hawks will head out to face off against the Vidor Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hardin-Jefferson will be strutting in after a victory while Vidor will be coming in after a defeat.

Hardin-Jefferson's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Little Cypress-Mauriceville by a score of 2-0. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Bears are ranked 575th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Vidor was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They fell 2-0 to Lumberton. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Hardin-Jefferson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those five matchups. Vidor's defeat dropped their record down to 17-3-1.
