Basketball Game Preview: Clinton-Massie Falcons vs. Monroe Hornets

Clinton-Massie hasn't had much luck against Monroe recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Clinton-Massie Falcons will challenge the Monroe Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Clinton-Massie has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Clinton-Massie turned things around against Dayton Christian on Saturday. They strolled past the WARRIORS with points to spare, taking the game 51-32. The Falcons pushed the score to 38-15 by the end of the third, a deficit the WARRIORS cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against Bellbrook, falling 53-14. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 503rd, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 59th).

Clinton-Massie's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Clinton-Massie lost to Monroe on the road by a decisive 46-32 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Clinton-Massie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
