Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Academy Crusaders vs. Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes
St. Mary's Academy lost against Sunrise Christian Academy two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The St. Mary's Academy Crusaders were dealt a 62-34 defeat at the hands of the Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while the Buffaloes are ranked 33rd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sunrise Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Canaan McElroy, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 18 points and three steals. McElroy's morning made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Ganza, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
