Basketball Recap: Salome Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Salome and Joseph City squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Salome had to settle for second. They took a 33-16 bruising from the Joseph City Wildcats. The game marked the Frogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Frogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brianna Thomas, who posted six points. Thomas has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 15 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brittny Soberanes, who scored three points and three steals.

Salome's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Joseph City, their victory was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-5.

Salome does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Joseph City, they have already played their next matchup, a 64-36 win against St. David on the 22nd.
