Baseball Recap: Hopkins County Central Wins Going Away Against Fort Campbell

Hopkins County Central's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Fort Campbell Falcons as they made off with a 13-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Storm in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won six in a row.

Neilan Bruce was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Hopkins County Central's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 3-1 (and 3-17 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jak Mitchell, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hopkins County Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.

Hopkins County Central's win bumped their record up to 6-18. As for Fort Campbell, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Coming up, Hopkins County Central will challenge Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
