Basketball Preview: Montgomery Central Indians vs. Waverly Central Tigers
The Montgomery Central Indians will be playing at home against the Waverly Central Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-11, which was the final score in Montgomery Central's tilt against the War Eagles on Friday. Montgomery Central has not had much luck with the War Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, Waverly Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 40-34 to the Vikings. Waverly Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Montgomery Central has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which is still a better percentage than their 2-15 record this season. As for Waverly Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Montgomery Central didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Tigers in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, but they still walked away with a 32-28 victory. Will Montgomery Central repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
