Basketball Recap: Leflore County Falls Despite Big Games from Malia Dixon and Antionette Holston

Leflore County entered their game against Edwards on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Leflore County Tigers took a 43-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edwards Tigers. The match was a 17-17 toss-up at halftime, but Leflore County couldn't quite close it out.

Leflore County's loss came despite strong showings from Antionette Holston and Malia Dixon. Holston posted ten points and eight boards, while Dixon went 5 of 7 on her way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Dixon, who put up four points and four steals.

Leflore County's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3. As for Edwards, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7.

Leflore County will venture away from home to challenge Simmons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Simmons will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Leflore County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Edwards, they are taking a road trip to take on Shaw at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
