Baseball Recap: Melrose Takes a Loss

Melrose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters. The Dutchmen were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mainstreeters earlier this season, when they won 13-10.

Melrose now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Sauk Centre, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-11 record.

Looking ahead, Melrose will challenge Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Dutchmen's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sauk Centre, they are taking a road trip to take on Staples-Motley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
