Basketball Recap: Golden Plains Piles Up the Points Against Triplains/Brewster

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Victoria, Golden Plains was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 57-27 victory over the Triplains/Brewster Titans. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their 26-point performance the matchup before.

Josh Rath was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Those 22 points gave him a new career-high. Dylan Wark was another key player, going 6 for 14 en route to 14 points and seven boards.

Golden Plains smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Golden Plains' win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-6. As for Triplains/Brewster, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Golden Plains and Weskan will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Triplains/Brewster, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Logan/Palco at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th.
