Baseball Recap: West Hills Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

West Hills won against Valhalla on Monday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Wolf Pack beat the Mount Miguel Matadors by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-1. The victory was nothing new for the Wolf Pack as they're now sitting on three straight.

Anthony Rosolino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Joey Monetti, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of West Hills' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 4-9 when he doesn't). Carson-Kai Lewis was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

West Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Miguel struck out eight times.

West Hills' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Miguel, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

West Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Matadors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
