Softball Recap: Powell Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

While Powell's victory against Union County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Patriots on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.

Powell saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Langston Coggins, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Nevaeh Wells was another, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Powell pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Union County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Coming up, Powell will be playing at home against Hardin Valley Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dragons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
