Softball Recap: Serena Huskers vs. St. Francis Spartans
After flying high against Indian Creek on Monday, Serena came back down to earth. The Huskers fell just short of the St. Francis Spartans by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The Huskers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Brynley Glade was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Setchell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.
Serena's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4. As for St. Francis, their record is now 14-3.
When Serena and St. Francis next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Huskers will face off against Morris and their four-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Francis will try to stop De La Salle's three-game winning streak when they meet at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
