Lafayette waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the PURE Academy Royals 30-14.

One reason for the win was Lafayette's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 3.5 sacks. In that department, Tyler Wiley was the leader with three. He also forced onefumble, which is notable because Lafayette is undefeated when he posts at least one forced fumble, but 1-2 otherwise.

Lafayette's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for PURE Academy, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Lafayette didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-27 defeat against New Hope on the 10th. As for PURE Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 50-6 win against Holly Springs on the 10th.
