Baseball Recap: Advance Find Success

Advance let St. Vincent stack five runs on them in the sixth inning on Friday but luckily Advance prevailed anyway. The Hornets won by a run and slipped past the Indians 7-6. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jameson Hamlin was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Advance's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Welch, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Advance's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for St. Vincent, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Coming up, Advance will challenge Meadow Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Vincent, they will take on Leopold at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
