Baseball Recap: Wahkiakum Takes a Loss

Wahkiakum was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 10-5 to the Ilwaco Fishermen. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fishermen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 on Friday.

Cooper Carlson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Hank Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Wahkiakum's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Ilwaco, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wahkiakum will venture away from home to take on Naselle at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ilwaco, they will head out to face off against Hoquiam at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
