Volleyball Recap: West St. Mary Wolfpack vs. Westgate Tigers
West St. Mary took care of business in their home opener on Saturday (barely). They had just enough and edged the Westgate Tigers out 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolfpack as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
West St. Mary was staring down a 1-0 deficit headed into the second set, but they rallied to take the next three for the win. After all that action, the final score was 25-27, 25-22, 15-8.
Having lost for the first time this season, Westgate fell to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West St. Mary will have plenty of time to enjoy the victory as they don't play again for a while. They'll take on Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westgate, they are on the road again on Monday to play LaGrange at 5:30 p.m.
