Baseball Game Preview: Hartsville Red Foxes vs. Andrew Jackson Volunteers

The Hartsville Red Foxes will venture away from home to take on the Andrew Jackson Volunteers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hartsville knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Andrew Jackson likes a good challenge.

Hartsville lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Sumter, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's match. The Red Foxes blew past the Gamecocks 13-7 on Saturday. The Red Foxes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Web Barnes, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Casey Hawkins was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Barnes wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hartsville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Andrew Jackson). They put the hurt on Central with a sharp 14-8 victory on Tuesday.

Hartsville's record is now 9-2. As for Andrew Jackson, their record now sits at 3-10.
