Baseball Recap: St. Louis Homeschool P Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

St. Louis HomeSchool P posted their closest win since March 28th on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Charlotte S Stampede 3-2. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 7-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Samuel Hart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because St. Louis HomeSchool P is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 12-13 otherwise.

At the plate, Vinny Tornatore was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for St. Louis HomeSchool P: the team is 10-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 10-12 otherwise.

St. Louis HomeSchool P is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-13 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Charlotte S, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-16.

Coming up, St. Louis HomeSchool P will face off against Union at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Charlotte S does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
