Volleyball Game Preview: Warren Dragons vs. Slippery Rock Rockets

Warren has gone a perfect 4-0 against Slippery Rock recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. The last four games Warren has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Warren's win against Cochranton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Dragons had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 1-0 last Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Dragons have posted since October 11th.

Malysia Sorensen and Paiden Johnson were among the main playmakers for Warren as the former had ten digs and one assist and the latter had five digs.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Slippery Rock walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs on Wednesday. The Rockets are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.

Slippery Rock's win came from a few key players Warren will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lexi Caldwell, who had 25 assists. She has been hot for a while, having posted 17 or more assists the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lyla Runtas, who had ten digs.

Slippery Rock's win bumped their record up to 23-4-2. As for Warren, their victory bumped their record up to 30-5-5.

Warren took their win against Slippery Rock in their previous meeting back in October of 2017 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
