Volleyball Recap: Hilltop Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Hilltop suffered their biggest loss since October 31, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against the Wauseon Indians, falling 3-0. The Cadets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 25-15.

Brynn Rodriguez paced Hilltop's offense, picking up 12 kills. Rodriguez got some help from Hayden JoHantgen and her 12 assists. Kelsy Connolly controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Leading Wauseon to victory were Bella McGuire and Anaya Gonzales. McGuire had 21 digs and one assist, while Gonzales had eight digs and three aces. McGuire is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 17 every time she's taken the court this season.

Hilltop's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Wauseon, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.

Hilltop has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Continental on the 13th. As for Wauseon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Defiance on the 13th.
