Basketball Recap: Rutland Comes Up Short

Rutland lost against Westside back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rutland Hurricanes fell 57-44 to the Westside Seminoles. That's two games in a row now that the Hurricanes have lost by exactly 13 points.

Leading Westside to victory were Joshua Harden and Jatavion Zellner. Harden dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Zellner dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Those ten boards gave Zellner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Butts, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Rutland's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Westside, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Rutland will welcome Morgan County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Morgan County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. As for Westside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
