Soccer Game Preview: Cypress Lake vs. Island Coast

The Cypress Lake Panthers will take on the Island Coast Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Cypress Lake fell victim to Lely and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Trojans, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 449th, while the Trojans are ranked 122nd).

Meanwhile, Island Coast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gateway.

This is the second loss in a row for Cypress Lake and nudges their season record down to 4-15-3. As for Island Coast, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.

Cypress Lake beat Island Coast 4-2 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Will Cypress Lake repeat their success, or does Island Coast have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
