Preview: Santa Fe Trail Chargers vs. Osawatomie Trojans
Santa Fe Trail is 8-2 against Osawatomie since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Santa Fe Trail Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Osawatomie Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Santa Fe Trail knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Osawatomie likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Santa Fe Trail at home against Prairie View as the squad secured a 60-25 victory. Given Santa Fe Trail's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Prairie View is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Osawatomie was the victim of a rough 63-37 loss at the hands of Anderson County on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Osawatomie has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Osawatomie saw an underclassman step up: Jasper Sallee scored 13 points.
Santa Fe Trail's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Osawatomie, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-2.
Everything came up roses for Santa Fe Trail against Osawatomie in their previous matchup back in February as the squad secured a 78-47 victory. Does Santa Fe Trail have another victory up their sleeve, or will Osawatomie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
