Soccer Game Preview: Abbeville vs. Lincoln County

The Abbeville Panthers will head out to square off against the Lincoln County Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Abbeville is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Towns County on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. One reason for the loss might be Abbeville's aggressive play style: Jacob Vazquez and Parker Henderson were both handed yellow cards.

Meanwhile, Lincoln County came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Chiefs as they made off with a 10-1 win. Lincoln County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by three goals or more this season.

Lincoln County pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Abbeville, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Abbeville suffered a grim 6-2 defeat to Lincoln County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
