Baseball Recap: Lafayette Triumphs

Lafayette barely beat Oxford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Commodores put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 15-6 victory on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Commodores needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Brett Williams looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Lafayette's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Oxford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
