Becca Longo of Basha (Chandler, Ariz.) broke a major barrier Wednesday.

The senior kicker signed her National Letter of Intent to Division II Adams State, becoming the first female to garner a scholarship to play football at a Division II college or higher. Richard Obert of azcentral.com broke the news.

The 5-foot-11 trendsetter went 30 of 33 on point-after tries and connected on her only field goal attempt for the Bears this past season. She also posted 2.9 points and 1.6 rebounds per game on the hardwood, a sport she also plans on playing in college.

Adams State is located in southern Colorado. The football team went 2-8 last season.
