Basketball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short

After soaring to 59 points the game before, St. Francis was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Decatur Community Red Devils and fell 55-28. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now lost six in a row.

Tyler Ostmeyer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Decatur Community, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 14 boards. That's the most points Ostmeyer has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Brycen Ketterl, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Decatur Community, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Francis will host Rawlins County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Francis is facing Rawlins County at the right time seeing as Rawlins County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Decatur Community, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wallace County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Decatur Community's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
