Basketball Recap: St. Luke's Episcopal Find Success

There's no place like home for St. Luke's Episcopal, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They escaped with a win on Friday against the Chickasaw Chieftains by the margin of a single free throw, 46-45. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading St. Luke's Episcopal to victory were Logan Stephenson and Armani Coleman. Stephenson went 7 for 9 on her way to 16 points and five assists, while Coleman went 6 of 12 on her way to 19 points and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Stephenson has scored at least a third of St. Luke's Episcopal's points. Megan McDonough was another key player, putting up five points and four steals.

St. Luke's Episcopal's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10. As for Chickasaw, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

St. Luke's Episcopal and LeFlore will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Chickasaw, they will head out to take on Washington County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
