Basketball Recap: Galena Park's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Galena Park came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 50-41 victory over the Austin Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-24 back in December of 2024.

Galena Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Savannah Roberts, who posted 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Roberts is becoming a predictor of Galena Park's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 10-2 (and 6-9 when she doesn't). Julissa Montano was another key player, going 6-for-11 en route to 14 points and five boards.

Galena Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Galena Park's record is now 16-11. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

As for Austin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 76-19 defeat against Fort Bend Marshall on the 10th.
