Wakefield waltzed into their match on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came out on top against the Millbrook Wildcats by a score of 5-0. The game was the first time the Wolverines have beaten the Wildcats on their field since April 6, 2022.

The result came thanks to Tyler Rotellini's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Wakefield's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mikey Katz, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Katz has posted since back in March.

Wakefield's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Millbrook, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Wakefield by a score of 5-3 on Thursday.
