Volleyball Recap: Archie Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Archie entered their tilt with Leeton on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Bulldogs. The Whirlwinds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Leading Archie to victory were Eliza Macrander and Lizzy Thompson. Macrander had five aces, while Thompson hit 75% for six kills and nine aces. Those 75% hitting percentage gave Thompson a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Archie was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matches.

Archie's win bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Leeton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Coincidentally, Archie and Leeton will both be playing Northland Christian the next time they take the court. The Whirlwinds will head out to face Northland Christian at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 12:10 p.m.
