Seminole is 8-2 against Pecos since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Indians will head out to face off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Seminole is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.
Seminole took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Monahans, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Indians skirted past the Loboes 2-1.
Zoey Teichroeb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, Sunni Casarez was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Pecos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Greenwood, falling 16-4.
Ciarra S made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Carysa Campos, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Seminole has been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Pecos, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-20.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Seminole hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .429. However, it's not like Pecos struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Seminole came out on top in a nail-biter against Pecos in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
