Basketball Preview: Max S. Hayes Lakers vs. East Tech Scarabs
Max S. Hayes is 0-5 against the Scarabs since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Max S. Hayes Lakers will look to defend their home court against the East Tech Scarabs at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Max S. Hayes' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 77-47 loss at the hands of Glenville. Max S. Hayes has struggled against the Tarblooders recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, East Tech's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were beaten by Mentor 85-47. While losing is never fun, East Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Cardinals are ranked 58th).
Despite the defeat, East Tech had strong showings from Keshawn Ellington, who scored 15 points along with three steals, and Chris Simon, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Max S. Hayes' defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for East Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.
Max S. Hayes was dealt a bruising 125-43 loss at the hands of the Scarabs in their previous meeting back in December of 2018. Thankfully for Max S.
