Baseball Game Preview: Monroeville Eagles vs. Crestline Bulldogs

The Monroeville Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Crestline Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Monroeville will be strutting in after a win while Crestline will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Monroeville got the win against New London by a conclusive 14-7. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Crestline fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against New London on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Crestline saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Rumple, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those hits were Rumple's first of the season.

Crestline's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Monroeville, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Monroeville came up short against Crestline in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 9-5. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
