Softball Recap: Falkner Takes a Loss

Falkner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pine Grove Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 7-3 defeat back in March.

Emma Mauney was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Brenlee Walker also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Falkner's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Pine Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Falkner will take on Jumpertown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Grove has already played their next game (against Myrtle), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
