Softball Recap: South Central Comes Up Short

New London hit South Central with a six-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Wildcats, falling 13-6. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 11-5.

Zaida Myers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Ember Phillips was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.

South Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for New London, their record is now 16-9.

Coming up, South Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Chippewa at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Chipps have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.11 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. New London does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
