Baseball Recap: Mount Ayr Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Mount Ayr barely beat Wayne the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders' pitchers stepped up to hand the Falcons an 11-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Raiders have won five games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mount Ayr's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Wayne, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Mount Ayr will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Decatur on Monday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wayne, they will head out on the road to face off against Murray at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
