Softball Recap: Easton Area Triumphs

Easton Area won against Nazareth Area on Wednesday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Rovers beat the Phillipsburg Stateliners by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. The Rovers haven't had any issues with the Stateliners recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Audrey Rinda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Easton Area's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Thalia Burns, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Easton Area's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Phillipsburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Easton Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Phillipsburg, they will take on Randolph at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
