Football Game Preview: Revere Minutemen vs. Rocky River Pirates

The Revere Minutemen will challenge the Rocky River Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Revere was handed a 42-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene last Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Copley 24-21. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Minutemen were down 21-7 in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Rocky River had no problem doing just that on Friday. They snuck past the Middies with a 20-15 win. The 20-point effort marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Rocky River has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.9 points on average over those games. As for Revere, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
