Baseball Game Preview: Lee's Summit Tigers vs. Staley Falcons

Lee's Summit is 2-8 against Staley since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tigers will square off against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Lee's Summit didn't have quite enough to beat Lee's Summit West and fell 9-8.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Staley). They never let Raymore-Peculiar get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Falcons with their most commanding win of the season.

Staley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lee's Summit, their loss dropped their record down to 19-12.

Lee's Summit suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Staley in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
