Football Recap: Delta Comes Up Short

Delta extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a 23-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Sanpete Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rabbits of the 31-21 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Delta lost, don't look at Jett Rawlinson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 140 yards and one score.

As for North Sanpete, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 39.0 points this season.

Ayden Akee was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 119 yards and one touchdown.

Delta will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Summit Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for North Sanpete, they will take on Richfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Hawks their first taste of in-conference action this season.
