Basketball Game Preview: Fuqua Falcons vs. Brunswick Academy Vikings

Fuqua hasn't had much luck against Brunswick Academy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Fuqua Falcons will face off against the Brunswick Academy Vikings at 5:30 p.m.

Last Monday, Fuqua came up short against Westover Christian Academy and fell 56-44. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Brunswick Academy came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 34-15 win over the Kavaliers. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Kavaliers are ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brunswick Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.3 points per game. As for Fuqua, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Fuqua was taken down by Brunswick Academy 56-15 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Fuqua avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
