Oswego East entered their tilt with Joliet Central on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They greeted the New Year with with a 64-45 victory over the Steelmen. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Steelmen are ranked 560th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oswego East's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Joliet Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

Oswego East will head out on the road to face off against Oswego at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Joliet Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Crete-Monee at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
