            Football Preview: Hoggard Vikings vs. New Hanover Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            The Hoggard Vikings are taking a road trip to  challenge the New Hanover Wildcats  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Hoggard is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Friday, Hoggard was fully in charge, breezing past West Brunswick 34-7. The  contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  28-7.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hoggard to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Matthew Boring, who threw for 233 yards and three  TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes.  Desyn Durand was  Boring's top target, picking up 99 receiving yards and a pair of  touchdowns.
Meanwhile,  after only seven  points in their last  game, New Hanover made sure to put some  points up on the board against North Brunswick  last Friday. The Wildcats walked away with  a   35-28  victory over the Scorpions. Considering the Wildcats' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to  Tony Clark-Nelson and  Javonie Webb. Clark-Nelson rushed for 107 yards and two  scores on only ten carries while  Webb rushed for 117 yards and a pair of  TDs while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Those  107  rushing yards gave  Clark-Nelson a new career-high.
 New Hanover was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 286  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 Hoggard's record is now 5-0. As for New Hanover, their record now sits at 2-3.
 Hoggard took their  win against New Hanover  in their previous meeting  back in November of 2024 by a conclusive  39-13 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success,  or do  the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
